Man Utd star states 'everything is possible' for club this season
United playmaker Juan Mata believes the club can achieve "everything" this season on account of the amount of footballing talent at Old Trafford.
Having being held in Sunday's home clash by Stoke City, having had a mountain of chances, Mata believes United should have put the game to bed long before Joe Allen equalised with ten minutes remaining.
Mata's sentiments on the Premier League fixture echo those of manager Jose Mourinho, who feels that his team could have won the tie 6-0 on a different day.
"We went for the victory since the beginning, we were better than Stoke and we felt that Old Trafford was supporting our effort," Mata wrote in his blog this morning.
"In the first half, we were very close to get a goal several times. We have to give credit to Grant for his great performance.
"In the second half we finally opened the score with a very nice goal from [Anthony] Martial, but in the last few minutes they took advantage of a good play to tie the game.
"We gave everything until the end but we were unable to get those three points that were so important and that (with all due respect to our rival) I think we deserved."
The diminutive playmaker also believes that, despite already being five points behind table-toppers Manchester City, the club can challenge for trophies on all fronts this season.
"We are aware that, at our level, everything is possible this season.
"We have five games in October that are very important. Manchester United has always had challenges and the one we have this season is still there."
The Red Devils' next fixture is a mouthwatering clash away to Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's men could open up a six-point gap on their bitter rivals with a victory at Anfield.
