Liverpool want to offer Klopp new deal after just nine months
Liverpool's owners have approached manager Jurgen Klopp about extending his contract, Press Association Sport understands.
The German only took over at Anfield in October last year but the owners wish to tie him down past his current deal, which runs to 2018 with a one-year option at the end.
Despite not winning anything in his first almost-full season, Klopp did bring Liverpool to the League Cup and Europa League finals and he is already a firm favourite among Liverpool fans.
Reports tonight don't say how long the new deal will be but it is said to be significantly longer.
The 49-year old has spoken about spending a large chunk of career at Anfield and now the club's owners want to make that decision even easier for him.
