Liverpool target Man City's Stevan Jovetic
He has become a forgotten man at Manchester City, but striker Stevan Jovetic is emerging as a key target for Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
The latest rumours on Merseyside suggest Rodgers has identified Jovetic as the striker who has form a deadly partnership with Daniel Sturridge in the next Premier League season.
Liverpool have agreed a deal for Brazilian attacking star Roberto Firmino and if Jovetic is added to the striking options on offer to Rodgers, he should have the firepower that was so sadly lacking last season.
"I have said for some time now that Liverpool need to sign a couple of top forwards this summer," states Liverpool goal scoring great and Sunday World columnist John Aldridge.
"Firmino appears to be a good signing and I have been hoping that the club get another top striker in who will guarantee 20 goals next season."
While Jovetic has struggled to impress at City, his record with Fiorentina and the Montenegro national team suggests he could be a good option for Liverpool to consider.
Aston Villa's Christian Benteke is another on their wanted list, but Liverpool are reluctant to pay the £32.5m asking price for the Belgian forward.
