Despite being relegated last season with Newcastle, it seems Andros Townsend is in demand.

The 24-year-old was one of the Magpies best performers last term after his switch from Spurs in the January window.

But his goals and pace couldn't save Rafa Benitez' side from the drop and he is now being chased by a number of Premier League clubs.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool have just joined the hunt, but they face stiff competition from Manchester City, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Southampton for the international's service.

Townsend joined Newcastle for £12m in January but he has a buy out clause of just £10.5m, making him a good value purchase for a whole host of clubs.

The Telegraph also report on the story and they say that Klopp is looking at bringing in more pace to his team and he is considering the likes of Southampton’s Saido Mane or Arsenal's Theo Walcott but those players would come with a much heftier price tag than Townsend.

The left-winger failed to make the England squad for the Euros but it now looks increasingly likely that he will be back in the Premier League next season.
