Liverpool edge closer to landing top target
According to today's papers, Liverpool fans may have a new face on the wing at Anfield next season.
According to the Telegraph, Liverpool are to step up their chase of Southampton's Sadio Mane after a bid to land Mario Gotze appears to have fallen through.
Approaches were made by the Reds a number of weeks ago and talks continue between the clubs.
The reported fee for the 24-year old is in the region of £30m and Klopp is reported to want to get the deal done sooner rather than later as pre-season work will begin soon.
Mane has been excellent for the Saints over the last two years, nabbing 21 league goals from midfield as well as racking up assists.
However, it should be noted that Southampton are preoccupied with finding a manager to replace Ronald Koeman and after selling so many players in recent season, they are expected to fight to keep the Senegal international.
In other Liverpool news The Daily Mirror are reporting that Liverpool have rejected an £8million offer from Swansea for midfielder JOE ALLEN to return to the Liberty Stadium.
