Kevin Doyle joins MLS side Colorado Rapids
Republic of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle has completed a move from Wolves to MLS side Colorado Rapids.
sundayworld.com revealed last month that Doyle was weighing up an offer from Colorado and now he has sealed the move, joining Robbie Keane and Sean St Ledger among a growing band of Ireland internationals playing MLS soccer.
Doyle delayed his move to America last month as his wife was due to give birth, but he will now sign on at Colorado on July 1st and will remain at Wolves for the rest of this season.
This move will end a difficult spell for Doyle at Wolves, where he was initially told he had no place in the plans of manager Kenny Jackett as he was sent out on loan to QPR ad Crystal Palace.
While he has forced his way back onto the fringes of the Wolves first team of late, Doyle knew his time was up at the midlands club and he is relishing the chance to move to America.
“With so many great players moving to MLS to join up with the great American talent already there, it's a great time to play in this league,” said Doyle.
The experienced Ireland striker was named in Martin O'Neill's latest squad for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland next weekend and he will hope to make the final cut for the trimmed down pool of players who will gather in Dublin next week.
