John Giles to sign for rival station?
TV3 are eyeing up the signature of John Giles, according to reports.
Paddy Power have now opened a book on Giles moving to TV3 and the price is pretty short.
The bookie are taking bets at 5/2 that the veteran RTE pundit will sign for the rival station
The veteran pundit and former international was axed for Ireland's crunch qualifier against Scotland for reasons unstated.
Since then suspicion has been rife the 74-year-old will set sail for further shores and sign with another station.
According to the Irish Daily Star, his contract with RTE is up in August and reports suggest Giles is contemplating whether to sign a new one.
A spokeswoman for TV3 was evasive when asked whether the station was in for Giles.
She told the Star: "As you would have seen, we are always bringing new talent into the mix, recently Gaizka Mendieta and Luis Garcia, so you never know."
The former Ireland manager said he was gutted after being left out for Ireland's clash against the Scots.
"I made it very clear I was available and wanted to do the match," he said. "I'm very disappointed. It's one of the most important we've had in recent times. It's a match I'd love to do and I'm not doing it."
