Jamie Carragher has hit back at his former Liverpool teammate El-Hadji Diouf after the Senegal striker launched his latest tirade of abuse against the Anfield legend.

In an interview with French football magazine So Foot this week, the ex-Senegal international described Carragher as a "s**t" when explaining the difference between his talents and those of the former England international.

In the interview Diouf said: "The difference between Jamie and me is that I am a world-class player and he is a s**t.

"The type of s**t that writes a book and mentions me all the time. Me, in my book, he does not warrant one phrase: he's a f*****g loser."

Diouf has previously had choice words to say about another Liverpool legend in the form of Steven Gerrard.

A quick look on Soccerbase reveals that Carragher and Diouf are actually tied on three Premier League goals apiece for Liverpool.

After the former Senegal international took aim at Carragher, the Sky Sports pundit tweeted out an interesting stat:

In an interview with Scouse Bird Problems last year, the ex-Liverpool defender had said of the fiery Senegalese striker: "The worst (player I’ve ever played with) has to be El Hadji Diouf.

"Actually, I quite enjoyed playing against him as you could kick him them - (you) can't kick your own players!"

Despite the Senegalese's far better goals per game ratio, the correct stat still doesn't say much for his time at Anfield.
