The FAI have announced that Ireland will take on Luis Suarez' Uruguay in a friendly at the end of the current season.

The game will take place on Sunday, June 4, next year, a week before we take on Austria in a huge World Cup qualifier.

Uruguay currently lead the World Cup qualifiers in South America - they beat Venezuela 3-0 last night to cement that position - and in former Liverpool star Luis Suarez they have one of the best players in the world in their ranks.

Ireland have played Uruguay once before, an entertaining 3-2 win for the South Americans back in March 2011.

In that game James McCarthy made his first start for the Boys in Green.

The FAI have confirmed that season ticket holders will get entry to the game but no further ticketing details have been released.
