Ibrahimovic's agent hints Man Utd deal is almost done
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent has offered a strong hint that the Swedish striker will sign for Manchester United when his Euro 2016 commitments come to an end, after suggesting he will move to Old Trafford aiming to seek revenge on new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a move to United in recent weeks, with the veteran striker believed to be keen to rekindle his working relationship with new United boss Jose Mourinho after the duo developed a close bond during their time together at Inter Milan.
Ibrahimovic is believed to have agreed a deal to move to United, rejecting a massive financial offer to make a move to Chinese football and yet it seems his eagerness to embarrass his old Barcelona boss Guardiola will propel his move to Manchester.
Ibrahimovic and Guardiola fell out during their time together at the Nou Camp, with the resentment linger from that snub still clearly frustrating the Swede as he prepares to make the final big move of his decorated career.
Old foes Mourinho and Guardiola are set to go head to head in a compelling clash that will be the centre-piece of the new Premier League season, with Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola telling Marca that his man is keen to be part of the script.
“I think he wants revenge on Guardiola, although he does not live for it because you shouldn’t have two graves - one for him and one for the enemy,” Raiola stated, with Ibrahimovic's contract with Paris Saint-Germain coming to an end at the end of this month.
“It seems destiny wants to see that meeting take place. One option is to go to the Premier League but for as long as Sweden continue in the Euros there will be no solution.
“You learn more from defeats than you do from victories and Zlatan learned a lot from what happened with Guardiola.
“As a person, I don’t like him either. Zlatan admits he is a great coach and I can think it, but I refuse to admit it.”
There are suggestions that Ibrahimovic needs to wait until July 1st to confirm his move to United, as he is entitled to a loyalty bonus from Paris Saint-Germain if he doesn’t sign for a new club before then.
Yet these latest comments add fuel to the suggestion that Zlatan and Jose will be back in tandem at Manchester United next season.
