'I am much calmer than him' - Jose Mourinho ribs Jurgen Klopp ahead of mammoth fixture
Mourinho had a little dig at opposing manager Klopp ahead of Manchester United's clash with Liverpool.
The Red Devils take on one of their fiercest rivals at Old Trafford in a 4.00pm Sunday kick-off.
At his press conference this afternoon, the United boss was asked about comparisons between himself and his German counterpart.
Mourinho, famous for displays of exuberance on the touchline in his early managerial days, had a cheeky swipe at Klopp:
"He wants to play the game as much as I want.
"He's as motivated as I am.
"I'm not sure he's so calm as I am."
The Portuguese coach has found himself in hot water with the FA a few times this season, twice regarding comments made to/about referees and once for kicking a water bottle on the sideline, an incident which resulted in the former Chelsea manager's second sending off during his first season as United boss.
Mourinho also expanded on the rivalry between the two clubs ahead of Sunday's showdown:
The Old Trafford manager has confirmed that both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo will likely be in the United squad at the weekend:
Ibrahimovic missed the Red Devils 2-0 EFL Cup semi-final first leg victory over Hull City on Tuesday due to illness.
The newly-crowned Premier League player of the month, who declared this week that he has 'conquered England', warmed the bench for the club's 4-0 thrashing of Reading in the FA Cup third round last weekend.
Centre-half Rojo sustained a muscular injury early on against the Championship side but looks set to make a quick return for the hugely important fixture against Liverpool.
Klopp stated today that the Reds' overriding emotion heading into the Old Trafford showdown is "angriness", while the Anfield boss could have all three of Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip available for selection on Sunday.
