Daryl Horgan scored a goal of individual brilliance for Dundalk as Stephen Kenny's men took another giant step towards the Premier League title with a 2-1 victory over Cork City in Oriel Park.

The Dundalk winger picked the ball up deep inside his own half and skipped past the Cork defence before drilling into the roof of the net to give the champions a two-goal advantage against title rivals Cork City in front of the watching Martin O'Neill.

Horgan was also instrumental in Dundalk's opener and it's a shame that it will go down as a Mark McNulty OG. Horgan curled a sublime free kick which bounced off the bar and rebounded off the hapless McNulty and into the back of the net.

Mark O'Sullivan pulled one back for Cork just after half time but Dundalk held on tho extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.
