Gazza picks his fantasy team and reveals why he turned down Man Utd
England great Paul Gascoigne is the latest star name to make an appearance on Sky Sports' Fantasy Football Club - and he has picked a dream XI from his former team-mates that is packed with familiar names.
It says much about the transformed faced of English football that all eleven players in Gazza's fantasy team are English, with the Geordie genius making his mark in the game just before the influx of foreign talent to the Premier League.
Gascoigne picks a familiar cast of stars in his dream team and the midfielder so nearly signed for Manchester United back in 1988 also revealed he could have succeeded his all-time idol at Old Trafford.
"Bryan Robson is my favourite player of all time," Gazza told Sky, before revealing the unflattering nick-name he gave his former England colleague.
"I actually call him 'dog poo' because he is everywhere. I had the chance to play against him when I was 17. I always remember when he used to play for West Brom and he had that curly daft hair and I remember him running from box-to-box and he scored a header from about 18 yards out.
"The guy was phenomenal and everyone looked up to him as a player, a great bloke. He is a one-off.
"He was one of the reasons I didn't sign for Manchester United. Fergie had (Neil) Webb and Bryan Robson. Where would I have fitted in? One of the greatest players of all time, for me. If I'd had end-to-end stuff like him, I like to think I'd have been even better."
