Brendan Rodgers is planning on making a big splash at Parkhead, if today's papers can be believed.

Today's Sun are saying that the former Liverpool boss wants to reunite with his old captain Steven Gerrard at Celtic and make him a player/coach at the Glasgow giants.

Gerrard is contracted with MLS side LA Galaxy until December but the paper says he may be tempted to return to this side of the Atlantic as Celtic would offer him a way into the world of coaching.

The 35-year-old has spoken about wishing to return to Anfield one day, and perhaps a team up with his old boss in Scotland could be the launchpad for that.

Elsewhere, Leicester are linked with a different Arsenal star today.

Yesterday it was reported that Claudio Ranieri was keen on Theo Walcott, and today it is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who is linked with the champs.

The Mirror say the Foxes fancy adding the England international to their squad, and the same paper also says that the Gunners are looking to bring Southampton star Sadio Mane to the Emirates.

Speaking of Southampton, Irish Saint Shane Long is reported to be wanted by both Leicester and Liverpool this summer. The striker has just had his best ever season in the top flight, so demand for his services will be high this summer, especially if he continues his fine form at the Euros.

Liverpool are, once again, linked with Mario Gotze, for a cut price £20m according to the Sun.

In further Liverpool news the Telegraph say that Martin Skrtel will leave this summer and Serie A newboys Crotone may take Mario Balotelli off their hands too.

And finally the Romelu Lukaku saga looks like it might be over sooner than we think, with the Liverpool Echo saying the striker has already made his mind up about his future.
