'F***ing shambles' - Arsenal legend fumes as fans irate over Munich meltdown

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright captured the mood of all Arsenal fans as the Gunners were heavily beaten at the Allianz Arena.

The Match of the Day pundit was tweeting during the Champions League last-16 clash between Arsenal and Bayern Munich, which ended in a 5-1 win for the home side.

Carlo Ancelotti's side scored three goals in ten minutes early on in the second half as Gunners fans watched any slight Champions League hopes fade away.

After going into half-time level at 1-1, Arsene Wenger's side were in a strong position despite a fairly unimpressive first-half performance.

However, with Laurent Koscielny forced off through injury a minute into the second period, Arsenal went into full meltdown mode as Robert Lewandowski and Thiago Alcantara put a frail Gunners backline to the sword with three quickfire strikes.

Substitute Thomas Muller put the icing on the cake for Ancelotti's side as he scored Bayern's fifth with two minutes of normal time remaining.

Wright did not pull any punches with his analysis:

The Highbury legend wasn't the only Arsenal fan sent into a rage by the manner of the defeat:

The Gunners have crashed out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage for the last six seasons in a row, with Wenger's men facing a near-impossible task to advance this year considering the advantage now held by the German champions.
