Dundalk continued the impressive start to the defence of their Airtricity League crown with a 3-0 win against nine-man St Patrick's Athletic.

Goals from Brian Gartland and a David McMillan brace did the damage and yet St Pat's boss Liam Buckley will feel his side hit the self destruct button with Conor McCormack and Killian Brennan both sent off.

There was a stalemate at Tallaght Stadium as Shamrock Rovers and Cork City played out a 0-0 draw, while Galway United claimed their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win against Drogheda United.
