Daniel Sturridge will miss the start of NEXT season through injury
Liverpool's injury prone striker Daniel Sturridge is set to be out for four months, meaning he'll miss the start of the next season.
Tomorrow's Telegraph are saying that Sturridge, who had an operation on a troublesome hip this week, is expected to miss all of pre-season.
In fact, he is only expected to be back at training in September, meaning he will miss the first few weeks of the 2015-16 season and possibly more as he works his way back to match fitness.
The 25-year-old missed most of this season with a host of injuries to his groin, thighs and hips and his absence was cited by manager Brendan Rodgers as one of the key reasons for Liverpool's drop off from last season's run at the title.
The expected absence of Sturridge will surely only increase the pressure on Rodgers to bring in one, or possibly two, top level strikers this summer to get the Reds back amongst the goals.
