CONFIRMED - David De Gea WILL remain at Man Utd
Real Madrid and UEFA have confirmed that David De Gea's transfer from Manchester United has collapsed and it cannot be revived after the paperwork was not filed in time.
De Gea had been scheduled to appear at an unveiling ceremony at the Bernabeu stadium today at 1pm, yet that press event was cancelled, as Real Madeid were forced to concede the deal was off.
With Real Madrid suggesting Manchester United are to blame for failing to file the paperwork on time and the Premier League club insisting they did all that was required of them, the recriminations from this remarkable story look set to rumble on.
One of the longest running transfer saga's of the summer appeared to have reached a conclusion yesterday when a deal was agreed between United and Real Madrid, but this development has left De Gea in limbo.
He will now meet up with the Spanish international squad as a Manchester United player and with less than a year left on his contract, he may well see out the whole season at Old Trafford.
