Clyne ready to complete Liverpool move
Nathaniel Clyne is on Merseyside as he looks to finalise his move to Liverpool, with Morgan Schneiderlin set to follow him out of Southampton in the coming days.
Clyne has returned from holiday and is in the city to complete the final stages of his transfer and he is expected to be confirmed as Liverpool's sixth summer signing imminently.
Meanwhile, Southampton are also preparing to agree a deal to sell French international Schneiderlin, with Manchester United expected to beat Arsenal in the race to sign the 24-year-old French international.
Schneiderlin has been weighing up offers from both United and Arsenal in recent weeks, after Southampton officials gave the green light for the 25-year-old midfielder to move this summer.
Even though Schneiderlin returned to training with Southampton at their Staplewood HQ for the first day of pre-season training on Monday, the expectation is that there will be developments in his future later this week.
On a day when Saints boss Ronald Koeman confirmed he was back at his desk (below), it looks like he is about to oversee the departure of two of his star names, in what is a repeat of last summer's exodus of star names from the south coast club.
However, Saints officials have assured Koeman that he will be given all funds from the sale of players to reinvest in his squad ahead of a season that will include Europa League football.
