Christian Benteke is NOT on the brink of sealing a move from Liverpool to Crystal Palace, according to his agent.

Palace manager Alan Pardew was reportedly close to wrapping up a deal to sign Benteke last month, with the Eagles believed to be ready to pay up to £25m to sign the striker who joined Liverpool from Aston Villa last summer.

Liverpool are believed to be keen to hold out to recover more of the £32.5m they paid to sign Benteke a year ago, but the striker's agent has insisted a move is not imminent.

Benteke's agent Kismet Eris has told Sky Sports News HQ there is "nothing in" reports the Belgium striker is on the brink of leaving Liverpool, insisting he is keeping his options open this summer.

Palace are keen to land a marquee striker after struggling for goals last season, with Pardew's side keen to make strides forward after coming so close to winning the FA Cup last season.

The south London club are believed to retain an interest in signing Benteke, but it appears the player is in no rush to finalise a move to Palace as he waits to see what other offers may come his way.
