Costa and Pedro celebrate Chelsea's winner

Chelsea inflicted Tottenham's first Premier League defeat of the season to extend their visitors' 26-year wait for victory at Stamford Bridge.

Christian Eriksen's superb opener was cancelled out by Pedro's sublime strike and Victor Moses struck Chelsea's second to extend their winning run to seven games.

Not since Gary Lineker scored the winner in February 1990 have Spurs won at Chelsea, who reclaimed the Premier League lead with a 2-1 win.

"Once again Spurs fail to win at Stamford Bridge. Look forward to next season and another reminder of how bloody ancient I am" - Lineker reflects on yet more Stamford Bridge misery for his former club.

Pedro. Began the season as a substitute, but has since seized his opportunity. Was lively and busy throughout and scored a fine goal.

Pedro's goal. Spurs had dominated until the point they lost concentration, giving the Spain winger plenty of space on the edge of their area. He turned and fired in a pin-point shot which Hugo Lloris could do nothing about. Chelsea celebrated wildly. It changed the momentum of the match in their favour.

Chelsea were unchanged for a sixth straight Premier League match. Pedro came in for Willian after the win at Hull, when the Brazilian was on compassionate leave following the death of his mother, and has held on to his place. Tottenham made three changes following their Champions League exit at Monaco on Tuesday night. In came Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen and Eriksen. Moussa Sissoko was absent altogether, having opined that Spurs should return from Wembley to White Hart Lane in Europe, following the Cote d'Azur defeat. Initially Spurs were much better, but there was a feeling of deja vu when Chelsea equalised.
