Chelsea set to make a call on Jose Mourinho's future
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will discover whether has taken charge of his team for a final time in the next 48 hours, after his side went down to their SEVENTH Premier League defeat of the season at Stoke.
A Marko Arnautovic goal was enough to condemn Chelsea and Mourinho to yet another defeat, on a day when Mourinho was forced to watch the game from a hotel room as he served out a stadium ban handed down to his by the Football Association.
It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will now be in charge for Chelsea's next match against Norwich on November 21st, with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard telling Sky Sports his position is not becoming difficult to sustain.
"This is not a blip now, it is more than that. They need to turn the corner very quickly, they need get results, it's as simple as that," stated Lampard.
"They played well at Stoke and looked sharp, but the time has come to get results now.
Chelsea turned in a decent performance against Stoke, but their latest defeat left keeper Asmir Begovic unable to answer whether his manager is about to be sacked.
"That is out of our hands, we are behind the manager you can see that from our performances," stated Begovic.
"We think he is the right man and someone we work hard for.
"His spirit and his presence is always there, we wanted to get a result for him.
"We definitely did enough to get a result here but when things aren't going your way you don't get the luck you deserve.
"We hit the post, we slipped over when we had open goals, we are making things hard for ourselves.
"You can see from the game today it [our problems] is not something you can pinpoint. We are getting punished for little bits and pieces, but eventually it will turn."
Chelsea were quick to confirm Mourinho would not be sacked after his side's defeat against Liverpool last weekend and it remains to be seen whether similar vibes will be released after this latest setback.
