Chelsea in pole position to beat Liverpool in race for exciting winger
According to reports in Portugal, Porto star Yacine Brahimi will end up in Chelsea Blue next season, leaving the likes of Liverpool, Wolfsburg and AC Milan in their wake.
According to O Jogo, Chelsea are now ahead of the other clubs in the race for the talented winger's signature.
The Algerian is priced at €30m by the Portuguese club and the 26-year-old made a splash at Chelsea after starring Porto's Champions League clashes with the Londoners.
If confirmed, the deal will be a blow to Liverpool who were reported to have lined up Brahimi as a back up if a deal for Mario Gotze fell through.
The tricky winger was a member of Algeria's squad in the 2014 World Cup and he had a very good year for the Portuguese club, with nine goals over the course of the season.
O Jogo claim the deal is in the final stages, though the fact that Porto only own 50 per cent of the player's rights may make the deal a little tricky.
