Chelsea confirm two big name players have left the club
July 1 is officially the day the summer transfer window opens and Chelsea wasted no time in letting three players leave.
In a statement on their website the club announced that two players who arrived with significant fanfare, Falcao and Pato, would be leaving.
They also announced that goalkeeper Marco Amelia was leaving after not making a single appearance last term.
Falcao arrived on loan from Monaco, after a season on loan at Manchester United.
However, the forward failed to fire at Stamford Bridge, scoring one goal before injury saw him miss over five months of the season.
Pato arrived on loan in January from Corinthians, partly to offer an extra striker due to Falcao's injury.
The former Milan star would not play for the club until April, making his debut, and scoring, in a 4-0 win over Aston Villa. He would play only one more game for the club.
