Champions League final player ratings
Real Madrid won a dramatic Champions League final against Atletico Madrid - and here is how we rated the players at the San Siro.
KEYLOR NAVAS: Had nothing to do in the first half. Was helpless to stop the equaliser. 5/10.
DANI CARVAJAL: Rampaged down the right, but was in tears when he went off injured in the second which could end his Euro 2016 hopes. 6.
SERGIO RAMOS: Scored the first goal, despite a suspicion of offside, and was his side's strongest defender. Rightly booked for a cynical foul in inujry time to halt an Atletico attack. 7.
PEPE: Untroubled in the first half, but conceded a needless penalty in the first minute of the second with a rash challenge on Fernando Torres. Replays also revealed some embarrassing play-acting. 5.
MARCELO: His attacking forays down the left caused problems as usual, but the Atletico equaliser was created down his side. Scored in the shoot-out. 7.
LUKA MODRIC: His immaculate passing kept Real ticking over. A class act in midfield. 8.
CASEMIRO: Came close to an early opener and always full of running. 7.
TONI KROOS: His free-kick set up Ramos' goal and was key to Real's dominance in the first half. His influence waned after the break. 6.
GARETH BALE: The best player on the pitch for long periods, his marauding runs, pace and skill a constant threat to Atletico. His dangerous free-kick almost created an early goal for Casemiro, got the flick-on to set up Ramos' opener and also had an effort cleared off the line. Went down with cramp in extra-time, but a performance worthy of a true galactico. Scored his penalty. 9.
KARIM BENZEMA: Full of running down both flanks and always a nuisance, but wasted his only real chance when one-on-one with Jan Oblak. 7.
CRISTIANO RONALDO: Quiet and largely ineffective, outshone in all departments by Bale. Scored the winning penalty in the shoot-out. 6.
DANILO (on for Carvahal, 52): Could not stop Atletico gaining control in the second half. 4.
ISCO (on for Kroos, 72): Struggled to make an impact. 5.
LUCAS VAZQUEZ (on for Benzema, 77): Took too long over a shot in the final minute of extra-time, but coolly scored first penalty of the shoot-out. 5.
JAN OBLAK: A superb display, which included a brilliant reaction save to deby Casemiro from point-blank range in the opening five minutes. Also saved a one-on-one with Benzema. 8.
JUANFRAN: Grew as an attacking threat as the game progressed and his excellent cross set up Yannick Carrasco's leveller. The only man to miss in the shoot-out. 6.
STEFAN SAVIC: Lost Ramos for the opening goal and missed a good chance to equalise, but was otherwise solid. 7.
DIEGO GODIN: Helped keep Ronaldo quiet, but unable to provide an attacking threat. 6.
FILIPE LUIS: Often the best source of delivery for Atletico from left-back. 7.
SAUL NIGUEZ: A subdued performance. Scored in shoot-out. 5.
GABI: Failed to get to grips with Real in the first half, but much sharper into challenges after the break. Superb penalty in shoot-out. 6.
AUGUSTO FERNANDEZ: Failed to get to grips with Real's midfield in the first half and was hauled off at half-time. 3.
KOKE: Struggled to make an impact. 5.
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN: Rattled the bar with a penalty which looked set to cost Atletico, but was always lively and full of energy, despite having little to feed on. Scored in the shoot-out. 6.
FERNANDO TORRES: Utterly anonymous in the first half. Won a penalty in the first minute of the second, but scarcely improved. 2.
YANNICK CARRASCO (on for Fernandez, 46): His introduction was key to Atletico's fightback. Took the game to Real and capped his display by slamming home the late equaliser. 9.
LUCAS HERNANDEZ (on for Felipe Luis, 109): Solid in his brief time on the pitch, producing two excellent late blocks. 7.
THOMAS PARTEY (on for Koke, 116): Little time to make an impact. 5.
