Video - Carragher wants Klopp installed as Liverpool boss
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged the club's owners to do all they can to recruit Jurgen Klopp after sacking manager Brendan Rodgers.
The news of Rodgers sacking came as little surprise, after the Sunday World back page lead in the hours before the announcement was made confirmed he was on the brink on an exit.
Former Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp has been waiting for the right job to come along since leaving the German giants at the end of last season.
Carlo Ancelotti, the former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid manager, also has the profile that Liverpool's US-based owners Fenway Sports Group are expected to find appealing.
This is how the news was broken on Sky Sports, with Anfield greats Graeme Souness joining Carragher in expressing his surprise at the sacking.
Carragher went on to suggest Klopp was the ideal man to take over at Liverpool, as he suggested the club need to be bold an appoint the opinionated German, while Arsenal great Thierry Henry had harsh words for the club's owners.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects to see Rodgers back in management before long:

I hope we've someone lined up?dont want a caretaker!!!!!!!!!— John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) October 4, 2015
Further support for Rodgers came from his former club Swansea, where manager Garry Monk was stunned by Liverpool's decision.
"I can't believe that. A very, very harsh decision. I don't think he deserved that at all," said Monk, who played under Rodgers at the south Wales club.
"I can't see who else is going to do a better job for Liverpool at this moment in time so I am sad to hear that."
The latest odds suggest Klopp is the favourite to land the Liverpool job, but Anfield sources suggest former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is the club's top target to replace Rodgers.
