Manchester United wonder kid Marcus Rashford is reportedly in line to secure a bumper pay rise, just a few months after he signed a new contract with the club.

Rashford sealed a huge wages hike at United after he signed a new deal last summer, following his rapid rise from the club's junior ranks to make his way into England's squad for the Euro 2016 finals in France.

After impressing new manager Jose Mourinho with some eye-catching displays in the first few weeks of this season, it is now being reported in several UK newspapers that Rashford is in line to leap up the wages ladder at Old Trafford once more.

With his current deal keeping Rashford at the club until 2020, United are keen to nail down a player who is widely viewed to be on the hottest young forwards in European football.

A new contract would see Rashford become one of the highest paid teenager footballers in Europe, with United legend Paul Scholes backing the forward to rill the problem wide areas of Mourinho's midfield.

"He's got great ability to run at a player. He looked like he had a goal in him," stated Scholes.

"I think the left-hand side and right-hand side are problems for United. I don't think those positions are set in stone for anybody. There's a chance there.

"I think Marcus is the best one to play in that position."
