Borussia Dortmund have been praised for a heart-warming gesture they offered after the shocking bomb attack that targeted their team bus on Tuesday night.

Dortmund’s Champions Legaue quarter-final clash with Monaco was postponed after explosions rocked their team bus, with defender Marc Bartra taken to hospital with a hand injury following the attack.

With the clash against Monaco postponed until Wednesday, Dortmund quickly came up with the idea of encouraging their supporters to offer Monaco fans accommodation for the night so they could stay on in Germany to watch the re-arranged game.

Many Monaco fans may have been planning to head back to France straight after the match, so the Dortmund initiative promoted on Twitter using #bedsforaway.

Images started appearing on social media of Dortmund and Monaco fans sharing an evening together as they made the most of a difficult situation, with Gary Lineker among those who praised the plan with a Twitter message.
