Big update on Man United bid for Chelsea star

SoccerBy Sunday World

According to reports today, one attempt by Jose Mourinho to raid his old club is going to fall short.

The Sun report that the Special One was desperate to bolster the Manchester United midfield with Willian and the club were prepared to pay £60m to get the Brazilian.

However, the paper report that Chelsea and the player are actually in talks about a new deal that would tie the midfielder to the Blues for another four years.

Willian was Chelsea's best player last year and the club are anxious not to let him leave, especially to United.

However, Mourinho has also been linked with a move for another Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic this summer so perhaps that will become the Portuguese manager's prime target.

In other news involving United, they may have more luck with Borussia Dortmund midfielder HENRIKH MKHITARYAN after submitting a second bid worth £26million for the Armenia international, according to the Daily Mail.

And the Daily Mirror writes Chelsea have made a £19.2million offer for Napoli defender KALIDOU KOULIBALY.
