Liverpool goal scoring great John Aldridge is more than a little nervous about his former club's prospects in this Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa at Wembley.

Aldo is focusing his attention on his weekly sundayworld.com charity bet in association with Paddy Power on Liverpool's clash with Tim Sherwood's resurgent Villa and he is expecting a long afternoon in the second of this weekend's semi-finals.

Brendan Rodgers' Reds are hot favourites to progress to an FA Cup final that will be played on the occasion of the 35th birthday of their departing captain Steven Gerrard, but Aldo fears they will struggle to overcome a resurgent Villa side.

"It would not surprise me if this game goes all the way to penalties," Aldo tells us.

"Liverpool have struggled at times against Villa striker Christian Benteke and they will play with freedom this weekend as they are not weighed down by the pressure of their relegation struggle."

Aldo has already won more than €3,000 in his sundayworld.com bets for this season, with all the cash being donated to Dublin's Temple Street Children's Hospital when the campaign comes to an end.

Aldo's bet for this week looks like this:

€50 on Liverpool v Aston Villa to finish as a scoring draw after 90 minutes at Wembley on Sunday.
