John Aldridge thinks Ireland can get something from tonight's game

The Liverpool and Republic of Ireland goal scoring great John Aldridge is back for another sundayworld.com charity bet and he has his sights set on the arrival of the world champions to Dublin.

This game always loomed large on the schedule for Euro 2016 and now it has arrived Ireland are in decent shape.

Third in the group, if the positions remain the same Ireland will make it into a play-off for next summer's tournament in France.

However, Scotland, four points behind, can leapfrog Ireland depending on results so getting something from the game against Germany tonight would be a massive boost for Martin O'Neill's men ahead of what might be a must win game against Poland on Sunday.

And just like his former Ireland team-mate Paul McGrath our man Aldo reckons it is possible.

Aldo has been handed a free €50 bet from our friends at Paddy Power and all winning money will be handed over to Dublin's Temple Street Children's hospital.

Here is Aldo's bet for this week:

Ireland can definitely get a point from this one. I'm going for 1-1
