Beat the bookies with Aldo - Ireland special

Ireland tend to be involved in plenty of draws in crucial World Cup qualifiers and that is the bet John Aldridge has gone for in his latest sundayworld.com punt.

In association with Paddy Power, Aldo has a weekly bet that raises money for Dublin’s Temple Street Children’s hospital.

Aldo will hand over a huge cheque to his chosen charity when he is in Dublin next month after a last season’s bumper harvest of wins and he is hoping that this bet comes off as Ireland travel to Austria for a vital World Cup clash.

“We tend to find a way to get a result in these big matches and while we don’t win too often away from home, a point is never a bad result,” says the former Ireland striker.

“Ireland are in a good position in Group D at the moment and a positive result in Vienna would put them in a good place heading into 2017.”

Here is Aldo’s bet for this week:

€50 on Ireland to draw 1-1 with Austria in Vienna at 11/2 (potential returns €325.00)
