Liverpool and Ireland goal scoring great John Aldridge is back for another charity bet in association with Paddy Power and he backing Manchester United to come up trumps in his latest treble.

Aldo has not been alone in struggling to predict results in this unimaginable Premier League season, with Jose Mourinho's sacking at Chelsea on Thursday the latest twist in a remarkable plot line.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is the new favourite to be the next top boss to face the axe, but Aldo is convinced his Manchester United side will come good when they entertain Norwich at Old Trafford this weekend.

He is also backing Chelsea to response to the departure of Mourinho with a win at home to Sunderland and while he is not certain Liverpool will get the win at Watford, that will complete his accumulator.

"You can see United responding to their recent problems with a win against Norwich and the same goes for Chelsea," says Aldo.

"They could quite easily spring back to life now that Mourinho has gone and I still think they can make a push to finish in the top four this season.

"Liverpool's game at Watford will be tricky as their opponents are in good form, but they have shown what they are capable of away from home so let's go for three of the big hitters to come good."

Here is Aldo's bet for this week, with all winnings to be donated to Dublin's Temple Street Children's hospital:

€50 on Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool to win this weekend (potential returns €183.84)
