John Aldridge fears Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland side will lose the first leg of their Euro 2016 play-off against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Friday night - but he still believes they can qualify for the finals.

Former Ireland marksman Aldo suspects a Bosnian side led by former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko may edge into a first leg lead against an Irish hit by injuries and suspensions, but he is confident the second leg in Dublin on Monday will still be decisive.

"I suspect we might get beat out in Bosnia, but we need to make sure we keep it tight and try and limit the damage," Aldo tells us.

"Ireland have never had a great record away from home, even in the days when I was part of teams that were qualifying for major tournaments on a regular basis.

"Bosnia have to be the favourites of the first leg, but let's hope the Aviva Stadium is rocking on Monday night and we can find a way to get through to the Euro 2016 finals."

Here is Aldo's bet in association with our friends at Paddy Power, with all winnings being donated to Dublin's Temple Street Children's hospital.

€50 on Bosnia & Herzegovina to win the first leg of the Euro 2016 play-off against the Republic of Ireland by one goal at 5/2
