Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has been upsetting people on twitter once again - after he congratulated Raheem Sterling for scoring on his debut for Manchester City.

Compliments for Sterling are unlikely to flow from anyone associated with Liverpool after his bitter exit from Anfield in a £49m move last week, yet Balotelli clearly didn't appreciate that the name of his now former team-mate was more than a little toxic among supporters of his own club when he posted this message:

A predictable flow of nasty abuse was quickly directed at ex-Man City striker Balotelli after his message, before he followed up with this response:

Balotelli has a track record of failing to comprehend that he has the power to annoy a whole lot of people on twitter and he has been handed fines and bans by the FA for his social media antics in the past.

Maybe the time has come for someone at Liverpool to advise Mario to leave twitter alone as his first priority needs to be addressing his woeful performances on the field rather than making headlines off it.
