Bad news for Manchester clubs as La Liga star signs new deal
Toni Kroos had been a target of both Manchester City and Manchester United but he has committed his long-term future to Real Madrid today.
The World Cup winner put pen to paper today on a contract extension that will keep him in Spain until 2022.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who lifted the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, joined Real in the same year from Bayern Munich.
Kroos originally signed a six-year deal for an undisclosed fee and the extension sees him add a further two years to his stay in Madrid.
The La Liga club said in a statement on their official website: "Real Madrid C. F. and Toni Kroos have come to an agreement on a contract extension which will see the player linked to the club until 30 June 2022."
Kroos helped Real win the Champions League last season and has also won the Super Cup and Club World Cup with the Spanish giants.
