Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is likely to make a host of changes to his side when they take on Southampton in their EFL Cup quarter-final clash on Wednesday night.

Wenger often treats the competition as a way to blood youngsters in the first team so the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Rob Holding will hope to be involved.

Third-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is expected to start while Lucas Perez is in contention following an ankle injury but Santi Cazorla (Achilles), Mathieu Debuchy (hamstring), Hector Bellerin (ankle), Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck (both knee) are all out.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Martinez, Jenkinson, Holding, Gabriel, Koscielny, Mustafi, Gibbs, Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Coquelin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Zelalem, Ozil, Walcott, Reine-Adelaide, Iwobi, Sanchez, Akpom, Perez, Giroud, Willock.
