Wenger reveals Arsenal 'negotiating with other players' after French trio sign new deals

The Arsenal manager spoke to the press this morning ahead of the Gunners' trip to Swansea City on Saturday.

Having seen Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin all pen fresh Arsenal contracts yesterday, Arsene Wenger stated that the club is in the negotiation process with "other players".

"It is important that we have stability in our squad and they're part of that.

"We are in the process of negotiating with other players."

Fans of the north London club are itching to see Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil tied down to new deals, as the star pair both have just 18 months left on their current contracts.

Wenger agreed with Ozil's statement that the manager's own future at the club is a big factor in the German playmaker remaining at the Emirates.

"I think it has been misinterpreted, I think (my future) is part of it," the French boss said in relation to Ozil's contract.

"There are many ingredients in a negotiation."

In terms of team news, Koscielny will return to the Arsenal side after being substituted with a minor injury during the 3-3 draw against Bournemouth and missing the FA Cup third round win over Preston.

Ozil is available after illness kept the playmaker out of Arsenal's last three fixtures but Theo Walcott is still not fit following a calf injury:

Hector Bellerin and Coquelin are both still out with minor knocks but are "not far" from returning to the squad.

Petr Cech will retake his spot in the Gunners goal after David Ospina played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 victory at Deepdale.

After the French trio put pen to paper yesterday, Wenger told the club's official website: "We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term.

"Francis has made tremendous technical strides over the past few years because he's so focused every day.

"Olivier has big experience in the game now and has become a more and more complete player since joining us.

"Laurent is of course a key part of our squad and I believe one of the best defenders in the world today. So overall, this is great news for us."
