Arsenal fans hijack another online poll
Arsenal supporters are known for making their presence felt when online polls are posted - and they have been up to their old tricks once again.
The inaugural Facebook Football Awards invited fans to cast their vote for their player and manager of the season, with Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and boss Arsene Wenger coming out on top in both categories.
In a year when Chelsea ran away with the Premier League, the nominations of Sanchez and Cazorla came as something of a surprise and Gunners fans did not stop there.
Arsenal defender Laurent Kosielney and midfielder Santi Cazorla made the Facebook team of the season, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain presenting the top award to Sanchez in a video link (below).
The final prize handed out in the inaugural Facebook Football Awards was the coveted Player of the Year Award. Here's what happened when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain delivered the Award to team mate Alexis Sanchez.Posted by Football on Facebook (Soccer) on Tuesday, May 26, 2015
This is not the first time Arsenal supporters have succeeded in swinging an online poll in the favour of their beloved Gunners, with cynics on Twitter suggesting this is the only way they can win a trophy.
Anyone who thinks Arsene Wenger is manager of the year needs to be strung up.— It'sMYArsenalOpinion (@ARSENALDvbrisG) May 26, 2015
