Arsenal and Tottenham set to battle it out for star striker
The fierce North London rivals are both hot on the trail of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to a report.
If it's possible, the animosity between Arsenal and Tottenham fans could be about to get worse.
Both the Gunners and Spurs are thought to be keen on Inter captain Icardi.
According to the Evening Standard, Icardi's wife Wanda Nara (who also acts as his agent) confirmed that the two clubs want to sign the striker.
The Argentinean scored 16 goals in 33 appearances for Mancini's side last season, as well as providing four assists as the Milan side finished a distant fourth in the Serie A.
However, Nara was recently insistent that she is not trying to force through a move away from Milan for her husband.
"We want to stay in Milan. People say I am a mercenary, but I am not. [Inter] have to say the truth. They can't say Icardi is not for sale and then talk to other clubs," she told Corriere della Sera.
"I've asked for a renewal because the club had promised me a renewal. Last year we accepted their conditions, which mean a lower salary, the sale of the 50% of Mauro's economic rights and there is no release clause on his contract. They have to keep their promises.
"There are many offers, but I do not negotiate with other clubs. I only talk about Mauro's contract, that's my role, not doing negotiations. Atletico Madrid, Tottenham and Arsenal have made contact. Napoli and Roma are also interested now."
Nara's most recent Instagram post seems to suggest that there is truth in her suggestion that the family want to stay in Milan:
When Inter manager Roberto Mancini was quizzed about Icardi's future at his first press conference of the season, he deflected the questioning with a hilarious response.
