Anthony Martial's agent has confirmed that the Manchester United striker is weighing up an offer to join Spanish side Sevilla in the January transfer window.

Martial has struggled to make his mark at United since Jose Mourinho arrived as manager last summer, but he has stated his desire to 'knuckle down' and fight for his place in the first team.

Yet it now seems that the option of a move away from United next month is a real possibility after these comments from his agent.

“We are studying the Sevilla option in detail,” Lamboley told ABCdeSevilla.

“Sevilla are a very good club, are in a good position in La Liga, play in the Champions League and have a great coach. That’s all I can tell you.”

Martial was reported to have been unhappy to have the United No.9 shirt taken away from him as it was handed to summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer, with Lamboley now confirming that story was accurate.

"I’m not going to lie to you. Yes, it got to him," his agent said last month.

"Yes, it surprised him. Yes, he was disappointed … for two days. But he’s professional.  He knew how to get back into things straight away.

"Personally, I find that decision out of order and disrespectful to my player. I told Manchester United's board that. You just don’t do it.

"So we accepted it, we turned the page, but we didn’t rip it up."
