Alan Pardew reveals his game plan ahead of FA Cup final
Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has devised a game plan that he believes will fire his side to victory in this weekend's FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley.
A win for Pardew's Palace would almost certainly condemn lead to the sacking of United manager Louis van Gaal, with the underdogs planning to pick on the uncertainty surrounding their opponents as they look to win the first major trophy in the club's history.
"We have got areas of the pitch where we're slightly superior and we must make that count," states Pardew.
"There is big pressure on them because they are Manchester United. That club has a different pressure compared to us, but we have a chance to win a first major trophy fro Crystal Palace and that is a prize we are desperate to chase.
"One or two of my players may never appear in a Final again. This is a real chance for a winners medal and we have spoken about different scenarios in the game and how it might pan out.
"They'll dominate possession, as they tend to do every week and we'll be very, very dangerous when they over commit."
Pardew will commit his future to Crystal Palace by signing a new contract before Saturday's FA Cup final with Manchester United.
Despite a poor run of league form during the second half of the season that ended with them finishing 15th, the manager has impressed since his appointment and it is believed has been rewarded with an extension on his current deal, which runs to 2018.
Details of the new contract remain undisclosed but Pardew said: "We are probably going to (sign) it before the game."
Palace head into the game with a full strength squad apart from an injury to Welsh international Joe Ledley, which puts his participation in this summer's Euro 2016 finals in doubt.
