Things Ruan Smith will be avoiding in the next few weeks; lemon juice, orange juice, limes - anything acidic really. And spicy food.

The rugby player earned himself a nice tongue injury during a game, reminding everybody why a mouth guard is so valuable.

The Brumbies man was the subject of a fairly hefty challenge and bit down on his tongue when he landed.

His tooth stuck in his tongue, and as we can see, the result was pretty grisly.

Still, this injury from earlier in the week suffered by Irish U20 player Dave McGregor is even worse. Only click if you are not eating.
