Video: The high-speed crash that rules Guy Martin out of Ulster GP
Top English rider Guy Martin will not be competing in this weekend's Ulster GP after this crash in the Dundrod 150 Superbike race last night.
Martin was leading the race but on the final lap on the Antrim course, Martin lost control of his Tyco BMW, sending the rider flying into a field.
Thankfully, the incident didn't leave Martin seriously injured but he will not be fit to ride in this weekend's Ulster GP.
There are reports that Martin will need a minor back operation because of the crash and he did spend last night in hospital.
Martin's team have confirmed he will stay in hospital for the next few days. Team Manager Philip Neill said in a statement: “Most importantly our thoughts are with Guy at this point in time, and although it is a real shame he will not be racing on Saturday – thankfully he will recover from his injuries and be up on his feet in a few days. As a matter of fact he is already talking about work on Monday!”
Get well soon Guy.
