INJURY UPDATE: Peter O'Mahony ruled out after picking up knee ligament injury
Munster man Peter O’Mahony has been ruled out of the Rugby World Cup after picking up a knee ligament injury in yesterday’s historic win over France in the Millennium stadium.
Rhys Ruddock has been called up to replace the injured Peter O'Mahony.
Ireland captain Paul O’Connell, who had to be stretchered off the pitch just before half time, is in hospital awaiting a scan.
Out-half Johnny Sexton suffered a groin injury in yesterday’s match and is awaiting a scan, but sources in the Ireland camp say they are hopeful.
There has been no decision as yet on any replacements for the injured Jared Payne or Peter O’Mahony.
