Antrim hurlers have been relegated from the All-Ireland hurling championship.

Twenty-six years after contesting the All-Ireland final against Tipperary the Ulster side won't be competing in the 2016 series.

They were hammered by Carlow yesterday (2-18; 1-11) which confirmed their relegation to the Christy Ring Cup.

Meanwhile, in the top-of-the-table clash Laois ended Westmeath's unbeaten record in the round robin series, winning 1-20 to 1-17.

The results mean that the line-up for the Leinster quarter-final is now finalised: Laois face Offaly while Westmeath will take on Wexford.

Meanwhile, Roscommon footballers qualified for a Connacht semi-final clash against Sligo when they overcame the challenge of London at Ruislip.

The Exiles held their own for long periods before eventually going down by seven points (1-14; 0-10)
