Galway GAA star Shane Walsh suffers injury in fatal car crash
A fatal car crash this morning in Galway has also resulted in a serious injury to young Galway GAA star Shane Walsh.
The 22-year-old was one of the injured parties in a car crash that resulted in the death of a man in the early hours of this morning.
According to The42, Walsh was travelling back from a challenge match against Cork in Limerick when the accident happened, on the N17 at about 2.30am this morning.
The accident has resulted in a broken hand or shoulder for the rising star.
The Kilkerrin/Clonberne clubman is now definitely out of Galway's match with Mayo next week and Walsh's participation in the rest of the Championship has to be in serious doubt.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who travelled the N17 at Cloonmore Bridge between 2am and 2.30am on 6th June 2015 to contact them at Tuam Garda Station on 093 70840, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
