Cheese back! 'Cheddar' Plunkett returns to Laois hurling role
Seamus ‘Cheddar’ Plunket has returned as boss of Laois hurlers.
He dramatically resigned last week after two of his squad played in a club challenge match.
Laois meet Offaly in the Leinster hurling semi-final in Portlaoise on Sunday.
Following his shock departure a campaign was launched on social media to persuade him to change his mind.
In a statement the Laois County Board confirmed that Plunkett had done a U-turn and would take charge of the team next weekend.
The statement read: "Laois GAA wish to announce that following successful discussions, the recent issues concerning Laois Senior Hurling have been resolved, for present.
"The team and management are now finalising preparations for Leinster SHC game on Sunday next.
"The issues in dispute will be addressed at a later date."
