The All Ireland winning Dublin squad celebrated in style last night at the capital’s luxurious Gibson Hotel.

The team arrived just after 7pm and were greeted by a contingent of loyal supporters who were waiting for them at the hotel.

Dublin coach Jim Gavin mentioned his pride in the panel and spoke highly of the fans.

“Winning the Sam Maguire obviously means a lot for the team. We only ask that they go out and be the best they can be and that’s what they did, so I’m proud, to say the least,” he said.

“The support we had from the stands, even driving to Croke Park through Fairview, there were people lined up along the streets in their Dublin jerseys cheering us on,” he said.

“In the last 15 minutes of the game, when we were being asked questions by Kerry, I think our supporters carried us on and we are eternally grateful for that.

“It’s a great time in the players’ lives and we need to cherish the moment, so it’s going to be a good night.”

The team are expected to pay the traditional visit to Crumlin Children’s Hospital later today.
