Price to sponsor Conor McGregor's corner for Mayweather fight is nuts
The reported prices being touted to companies who want to be associated with the August superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are insane.
ESPN have got their hands on a document from WME-IMG, the talent agency who own the UFC, that contains proposals sent to companies who may want to be involved in the fight which is sure to attract a hell of a lot of eyeballs.
The fee to be the top sponsor, with your brand's logo on the middle of the ring mat, ropes and two neutral corners is $10m (€8.7m).
The previous record was the $6.5m beer company Tecate paid to be the top dog for the Mayweather/Pacquiao bout.
The top sponsor also gets to sponsor the first minute of each round and they get $500,000 in tickets too.
But if you have a ton of money and just want to back the Dubliner you can sponsor Conor's corner for $5m (4.3m) which gets your brand logo on his corner, logo on the corner cam and $250,000 of tickets.
Floyd's corner is also available for the same fee and if they all are achieved then just the sponsorship alone will bring in a cool $20m before a ticket or PPV is sold.
Considering the whole thing could be over in, let's say 13 seconds, then it is a huge price to pay.
To put it in perspective, Bet365 pay around $5m a year to have their logo on Stoke's shirt.
Stoke are not the most glamorous of Premier League teams but that is for a full year on a club in the most watched league in the most watched sport in the world.
